2026 MAJOR SINGLES
The 2026 Major Singles were completed on Sunday 30th August. 14 Ladies entered this year's event which was great to see. Throughout the matches we saw great bowling with some very close results.
Semi-finals:

Terry Mack def Jan Ellery.
The final was played in ideal conditions between Cheryl and Terry. It was great to see the many spectators who came to support the players right throughout the matches. Cheryl got off to a handy lead but Terry fought back and gradually got to within a few shots, but Cheryl after 33 ends took out the match. Congratulations to Cheryl and well done to Terry. Great bowling.

2026 FOURS
The 2026 Fours were completed on 30th May. Eight teams contested the event. Earlier matches were affected by the rainy conditions but luckily the sun shone for the final, although the breeze was a little chilly. The many spectators saw some great bowls played by both teams. It was a very closely fought match with Katie's team taking an early lead but then Jan's team won 6 ends in a row. However Katie's ladies fought back and gradually got to within 2 shots of the lead. Jan's ladies then won the next few ends but Katie's team again fought back. What a great match with Jan's ladies winning by 1 shot. Congratulations to all players. A worthy final.

2026 TURN AROUND TRIPLES
Umina Beach Ladies had a very successful Turn Around Triples event on Monday 30th March. 28 teams from around the Central Coast as well as 1 team from The Hills enjoyed a lovely day. Thanks to all who supported this event.

The 2026 Triples were completed on Tuesday 24th March. We had 7 entries in this year's event.
The Semi-finals were played on Sunday 22nd March.

2025 Christmas
Umina Women held their Christmas Party on Tuesday 9th December. Everyone got into the Christmas spirit, decorating their tables. After luncheon the members raffle was drawn with some excited winners. Lucky door prizes were also given out.
President Pat, Life Members Lesley and Sue cut the cake. Thanks to Yvonne Norman for this. It looked lovely and tasted good too.
President Pat presented Club Umina's David with gifts for the staff.
Two members were presented with 20 year membership badges.

We also had two special birthdays in December. President Pat and Secretary Sue presented a gift to each of them.
Happy 80th to Hazel Lambert. Happy 90th to Dawn Burrows.
A lovely day was had by all. The ladies continued into the afternoon with music and dancing.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. See you in January.

2025 67th Birthday and Presentation Day
The Umina Women's 67th Birthday and Presentation Day was held on Tuesday 25th November 2025. A lovely day was had by all. The party hats made it very festive. Thanks to Yvonne Norman for making the delicious cake. We sang Happy Birthday to ourselves when the cake was cut.
The Presentation for the Winners and Runners Up of our Championship events was held after lunch. It was lovely to see most members in our new 'blue' uniform. Full details of recipients in photos below.
Also on this day 6 members received their 20 year membership badge. This was given to them by Life Member Lesley. Details in photos.
President Pat welcomed Captain Lesley from the Salvation Army. She was delighted to receive the Toys and Gifts brought in by our members and thanked everyone for their generosity. It was very interesting to hear how they distribute them to the needy families on the Peninsular.

2025-26 MAJOR PAIRS
The 2025-26 Major Pairs were completed on Sunday 9th November. We had 12 entries and it was pleasing to see 6 of the teams had ladies who worked. Thank you to all who entered. We were lucky with no weather delays throughout.
Semi-finals were played on Sunday 2nd November. Both matches were very close with only one point the difference at the end of the match.

The Final was played on Sunday 9th November in very windy conditions. Again this match was very close. The scores were level on the 16th end. The match ended up with only 3 the difference. A great game in very difficult conditions.

2025 Central Coast Region Volunteers Day
The Central Coast Regions Volunteer Day was held on Monday 27th October at Ettalong Bowling Club. It was great to see so many clubs represented. A lovely day was had by all.
Congratulations to Margaret Rugless and Glenn Simington from Umina Beach who each received a Volunteer Award. Both well deserved.
Bowls NSW Director Lesley together with Central Coast Bowls Region President Toni presented the awards to Margaret and Glenn.

2025 Mixed Charity Day

2025-26 MAJOR SINGLES
The 2025-26 Major Singles commenced on 25th July with 15 entries and finally got completed after many delays on Sunday 21st September.
Over the many games we saw some great bowling, sometimes in wet, windy conditions. Luckily the weather finally improved and the final was played in perfect sunny conditions.

Final:
Played between Lauren and Meena on Sunday 21st September. Lauren got off to an early lead but Meena gradually started to get into the game. After 22 ends Lauren was looking good on 20, Meena on 14. However Meena kept plugging away and on the 31st end it was Lauren 23 to Meena 22, A very exciting match. Finally on the 32nd end Lauren got the 2 shots needed to win the match. Great bowling from both ladies.
Congratulations to Lauren. Well done Meena.

The 2025 Ladies Kingfisher was held on 21st July. 22 teams entered this event and all had a most enjoyable day with the weather staying fine.

2025-26 MINOR PAIRS
The 2025-26 Minor Pairs commence on Sunday 15th June. There were only 3 entries which was a bit disappointing. Thank you to the ladies who did enter. They all played lovely bowls and enjoyed the experience.
Semi-Final:

This was a very closely fought match with the winning team being decided by last bowl in final end. Well done to all players.

The ladies were nervous to start with but as the game progressed they relaxed and enjoyed the game and experience. Natasha & Cheryl proved too strong on the day and took out the match. Congratulations to them. Also well done to Sharon & Annette who were delighted to get into double figures. They will all benefit from the experience.

2025-26 MINOR SINGLES
The 2025-26 Minor Singles were completed on Friday 13th June. 16 ladies contested this event. The first few rounds were delayed by rainy weather but eventually we got underway. Over the course of the games we witnessed some great bowling, with very close results.

Both ladies were nervous to start being their first Singles final. Kerrie went to an early lead but after 12 ends Natasha got to within 1 shot. Kerrie again went ahead and after 22 ends eventually got the required shots to win her first final
Well done to both Kerrie and Natasha. Congratulations to Kerrie.
