The Division 4 Pennant Runners Up Flag was going to be unfurled but because of the weather this was done inside.  Congratulations again to these players. (see photo below)

On this day our members bring in toys for Christmas.  These are distributed to families on the Peninsular and this year we asked the Salvation Army to receive the toys.  Their representatives Greg and Bronwyn were most grateful for the toys. (see top photo)

CONGRATULATIONS TO UMINA BEACH DIVISION 4 PENNANT PLAYERS WHO WERE RUNNERS UP IN THIS SEASON'S WOMEN'S PENNANTS.

EILEEN CRAWFORD '100'

Umina Beach Women’s Bowling Club celebrated the first member to turn 100 years old. Eileen Crawford has been a member since 1987 and has been a very competitive bowler over the years. She was delighted to have a party at her club with all the bowlers wishing her well. Marj Ransom, a long time friend and fellow bowler gave an insight into Eileen’s life and shared some bowling anecdotes. President Gale Hill welcomed Eileen’s family and friends. We all sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed a beautiful birthday cake made by Judith Moroney. Eileen responded by thanking us all for coming and said how much she had enjoyed her years of bowling and stressed to us all ‘never give it up’.

Thanks to Sandra for photos and article.

The 2023 Charity Day was held on Tuesday 8th August.    It was decided this year to make it a Mixed event with bright mufti attire.     Pres. Gale welcomed 100 players and over 16 non-players,  It was great to see our greens full and everyone enjoying the day.

Our charity recipients this year were again Central Coast Kids in Need.  This is a voluntary organisation that supports the well-being of seriously ill children through easing the financial burden for medication, equipment, travel and accommodation.  Sisters Lorraine and Rhonda started the charity some 20 years ago and have assisted hundreds of families since then.

Pres. Gale was delighted to present a cheque, on behalf of our club, to Lorraine and Rhonda in the amount of $4000.00.     Lorraine thanked all for this generous donation and said it will go towards helping many families.
