2025 67th Birthday and Presentation Day

The Umina Women's 67th Birthday and Presentation Day was held on Tuesday 25th November 2025. A lovely day was had by all.   The party hats made it very festive.    Thanks to Yvonne Norman for making the delicious cake.     We sang Happy Birthday to ourselves when the cake was cut.

The Presentation for the Winners and Runners Up of our Championship events was held after lunch.  It was lovely to see most members in our new 'blue' uniform.      Full details of recipients in photos below.

Also on this day 6 members received their 20 year membership badge. This was given to them by Life Member Lesley.   Details in photos.

President Pat welcomed Captain Lesley from the Salvation Army.  She was delighted to receive the Toys and Gifts brought in by our members and thanked everyone for their generosity.  It was very interesting to hear how they distribute them to the needy families on the Peninsular.

Winners: Kaye Cavanagh    Susan-Gaye Craske

The 2025-26 Major Pairs were completed on Sunday 9th November.   We had 12 entries and it was pleasing to see 6 of the teams had ladies who worked.  Thank you to all who entered. We were lucky with no weather delays throughout.

Semi-finals were played on Sunday 2nd November.   Both matches were very close with only one point the difference at the end of the match.

Results:

Kaye Cavanagh, Susan-Gaye Craske def Stephanie Heard, Kerrie Richens

Debra Moore, Carol Boyd def Gay Foulkes, Therese Causby

The Final was played on Sunday 9th November in very windy conditions.  Again this match was very close.  The scores were level on the 16th end. The match ended up with only 3 the difference.      A great game in very difficult conditions.

Runners Up:  Debra Moore & Carol Boyd

Congratulations to Kaye and Sue.   Their first ever championship win.

Well done to Debbie and Carol.
